Whether you’re new to betting house gaming or a casino veteran, black jack is 1 of the easiest and most exciting games betting houses have to offer. The goal in vingt-et-un is to best the croupier by acquiring a hand value as close to twenty one as as you can while not exceeding 21. To wager on vingt-et-un, you simply need a basic understanding of the game rules and a eagerness to have fun.

So how do you reach twenty-one? In chemin de fer, the cards have values. Number cards two up to 10 are valued at their printed number, while all face cards (King, Queen and Jack) are valued at ten points. The ace is a unique card in chemin de fer: you make a choice whether it is worth one or eleven points. Since casino gamblers are given 2 cards to begin, if you get an ace and a face card or ten, you’ve achieved twenty one-an instant win, as long as the croupier does not get 21 at the same time. This two-card winning hand is called a "blackjack"; hence the name of the game!

Casino rules for black jack are essentially identical at all betting houses. After you get your first 2 cards, your options are to hit, stand, double down, split, or sometimes bow out.

When you play blackjack at a casino, be sure to know which table to select. Most betting houses have color coded blackjack tables according to the min. wager the table accepts, usually 3 dollars, $5, twenty-five dollars or 100 dollars. In any casino, it is a given the three dollar and five dollar tables will be crowded, but they’re exceptional for novices at black jack considering that all of the cards are distributed face-up, unlike the one-up, one-down concept at higher tables. So the upcoming time-or the initial time-you visit a betting house, make a stop at the blackjack tables and target for 21!
